Free Self-Assessment · 15 Minutes

Three frameworks. Three readouts.
No single score deciding anything.

Most burnout checklists give you one number and leave you to guess what it means. This assessment brings together three separate, well-established ways of looking at burnout: which parts of you are depleted, which parts of your job are working against you, and how far along the process you are.

It's not a clinical assessment, and there's no pass or fail. It's a structured way to see the pattern clearly, so you know what you're actually dealing with before deciding what to do about it.

01

The Three Dimensions

Where the strain is landing on a personal level: emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and a fading sense of your own effectiveness. Three distinct scores, read independently.

Maslach & Jackson, 1981

02

Six Areas of Worklife

Where the job itself is working against you: workload, control, rewards, community, fairness, and values. A fit scale, not a stress scale.

Maslach & Leiter, 1999/2004

03

Stages of Burnout

A timeline rather than a score: which of five stages currently describes you, from early over-commitment through to burnout becoming the ordinary state of things.

Freudenberger & North

Fifteen minutes should be enough to work through it with considered answers, somewhere you won't be interrupted. Your answers should reflect the last two to four weeks, not your best day or your worst.

This isn't a diagnosis, and it doesn't replace a clinical assessment. What it gives you is a clearer picture, in your own words, so you can see the pattern and decide what's worth doing next.
